Sven Ortel : Project overview

Sven works all over the world on productions in Theatre, Music, Dance and more. From London to Broadway he has worked on a wide range of projects and needed a custom Content Managed website to help him easily show off his latest work.

How we helped on this project

We worked on this project with one of our creative partners, Designers Anonymous. They came up with the branding and visuals for the website, we bought them to life using XHTML, Javascript and our own Content Management System (CMS).

Sven needed an easy way to update the website himself. We custom build an editing suite that allows him to upload new projects, news and gallery images.

Dynamically generated content

We built Sven an entire custom editing suite. He's able to upload imagery and enter information about the projects. The website then resizes images dynamically, positions them based on their orientation and presents them to the user visiting the website.

Custom tailored Content Management System (CMS)

Using the custom CMS, Sven is able to manage the entire portfolio, gallery and news sections of the website without writing a single character of HTML code.

We used a Javascript based 'What you see is what you get' (WYSIWYG) in-page HTML editor and a jQuery based date selector to make it easy to add links, format text and browse the calendar.

Interactive file management

Sven is able to upload multiple images to the website at once using a multiple upload facility with progress indicators. When each file upload is complete, PHP automatically resizes and crops the images where necessary.
