It looks like Apple have announced iPhone 3.0 in the nick of time! Being a bit of an Apple evangelist I was one of those who bought both the original and 3G versions of the iPhone on the day they were released. However in recent months, the lack of basic functionality has begun to grate and I could even be caught having a sneaky peek through the Blackberry website! One of the projects we're working on at the moment requires the user be given 'notifications' of events happening, for example data being saved or a record being deleted. This article offers a very quick and simple way of doing this with a PHP/Jquery solution that is not only reliable but looks good too.
